Peer Observation Opportunities

 AE3's Peer Observation program has been one of the most valuable components of the FastStart program. The purpose of the observation is for informal, confidential feedback about your teaching.  The main goals of peer observation are to build collegiality and dialogue around effective teaching, specifically focused on your course and your concerns and questions.  Past participants have said that being observed is one of the single most useful steps they have taken to improve their teaching.   Both new and experienced faculty can benefit from being observed.

During the Peer Observation process, two trained observers (one from a different department in Engineering, and a specialist in teaching) will:

(a) meet with you in advance to get to know you and learn more about your class;

(b) observe your class (no surprise visits!);

(c) meet with you afterwards to share and compare reflections on how the class session went.

If you'd like to be observed, please fill out the form at this link:

After submitting the form you will hear from a member of the AE3 team to arrange your observation. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions, etc.!
