Bruce Elliott-Litchfield
Bruce Elliott-Litchfield is a Professor and Assistant Dean in the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has a B.S. (1978) in Mechanical Engineering from Illinois and a Ph.D. (1986) in Agricultural Engineering from Purdue University. He worked with General Foods Corporation in Modesto, CA, Dover, DE, and Lafayette, IN (1978-82). He teaches and does research on the subject of creativity, and he is faculty advisor of Engineers Without Borders. He is married, has three children, and lives in rural Champaign county. Bruce has been director of AE3 since 1994.

Leslie Crowley
Leslie Crowley Srajek is the Assistant Director of AE3. Her work includes program development and coordination for new and junior faculty. She has worked with students on academic probation, and is interested in issues of student engagement and probation support. Leslie also does work in the fields of therapeutic writing and technical communications. She received a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2000. She is married and has three sons and lives in Urbana, IL.

Laura Hahn
Laura Hahn is affiliated with AE3 through Illinois' Center for Teaching Excellence, where she is a Specialist in Education. Her work in the College of Engineering includes:

  • Seminar series on Inquiries in Engineering Education.
  • A peer observation program for new faculty.
  • Grants for the Advancement of Teaching Engineering.
  • Individual consultations on instruction for faculty.
  • Training programs for teaching assistants.
  • Curriculum and course revision.

In addition, Laura is involved in initiatives related to intercultural teaching and learning experiences for faculty and students at Illinois. She coordinates programs for international teaching assistants and faculty across campus, and has developed learning outcomes assessments for students participating in short-term projects abroad. She received her PhD in Educational Psychology in 1999.
